Well, I’ve met the man. This is what I live for. It’s for the opportunity to meet one of the greatest of all time who said that. And that’s something I, The King of Kings, live by. He’s the high-stylin’, profilin’, limousine ridin’, kiss-stealin’, wheelin’ n’ dealin, son of a gun!

The Nature Boy and myself have a few things in common. We both are champions in our respective professions. He is a 16-time world champion over a span of 35 years. For myself, I own the tobacco store that is Dekalb County’s Champion for an unprecedented 14th year in a row. And that’s 14 years in three different locations.

For the Nature Boy, he dominated every company he was in up until he retired in 2008, which lead to his induction into The Hall of Fame. He faced so much adversity from personal issues to problems with people he worked with. Most folks would have just packed it in at those points. Not him. No matter what it was, nothing could knock him down for the count. Not even the plane he was riding in 1975 that crashed could kill him. He breaks his back and returns like he didn’t miss a beat. He’s as tough as nails. And for his daughter, she’s well on her way to writing her own story.

I can relate when it comes to adversity. I have proven that even though all of my hard work was taken from me two years ago, I have found a way to come back. Even the so-called “machine” in both 2011 and 2013 tried it’s hardest to take me down. But as a champion, I am still here. It took some time, but I am still standing. I continue to be The King of Kings. I make chicken salad out of chicken s**t. And that’s why I am the best.

I have seen so much competition come and go in this town. From some folks who needed to be humbled in downtown Dekalb to now with the village idiot down the street, who still thinks people like him, they all fall eventually. But one place remains consistent and that’s us here at The Best In The Smoker’s World. We have been here for 14 years. For my competition out there, I know you’re reading this. You all thought I wouldn’t last six months either at the old location or this one. Well, 14 years later, I am still here. And I am not going anywhere, so get used to it, brothers. To be the man, you have to beat the man. And I am the man…well, minus the four marriages.
