Monthly Archives: December 2018

Happy New Year. We will be closed January 1st and 2nd for a break and re-open January 3rd.

As it goes at the start of every year, we take a couple of days off, mainly to let all of us working here breath for a bit. It was a hectic November and December at the store where my employees worked more than they were scheduled to. It gives us all time to relax.

For those who made orders over the phone Saturday through Monday, check your emails for tracking information.

We thank all of you for the support this past year. We appreciate it very much and look forward to seeing you in 2019.

We will be closed on Christmas so Santa can fly high to everyone’s house to give them presents.

Our annual Holiday Sale is on the way! (December 17-31)

You have two weeks to come here and get in on these deals. We will be open everyday except for Christmas. View the video and click on the ad in the picture to enlarge.

Santa has his “Naughty or Nice” list out for DeKalb County in 2018. What side are you on?

Here it is, folks. Let’s just say my sources were nice enough to give the list to me before anyone else received it. For those on the “naughty” list, may you all get coal in your stockings.

“Especially you, The Nefarious Brother Nero just over the border in Wisconsin. 312-970…DELETED! YESSSSSS….”

We have expanded our selection of CBD products.

Since 2015, we have been selling CBD (Cannabinoidol) in many different forms. CBD is the non-psychoactive component in cannabis that has proven to have many benefits. We have many different forms ranging from CBD Herb, vape oil, edibles. In addition to this, we have products for cats and dogs as well.

“What’s the fun in this if it doesn’t get me high?”

That’s a question we get often at our store. First, THC in marijuana can cause paranoia and headaches as side effects. CBD will not. Better yet, CBD does not show up on a drug test, despite what the rest of the internet world will tell you. Many dispensaries out there will extract as much CBD from their marijuana as possible. When it’s pure CBD, that is not the case. Don’t want the side effects? Don’t want to risk failing a drug test? CBD can be the answer for you.

Check our CBD page in this post to get more information. We do free shipping to all 50 states for these products. Give us a call at 815-991-5955.

We will be closed January 1st and 2nd for a break and re-open January 3rd.

First, I know what I am about to say has become a routine, but I truly mean it. We appreciate all of the support you have given us. 2019 will be my 17th year in this business and it’s just amazing that I am still doing this. I couldn’t have asked for a better situation.

I’ve had this conversation with many of you who have come in to the store that there are times where I am burnt out. It’s not often myself or my employees get much time off around the holidays. For the first decade or so, I never really opened up on holidays. The last few, that hasn’t been the case with ones such as Labor, Memorial and Independence Day. Needless to say, it’s time to take a step back.

There are four others who work for me and I do ask a lot from them when things are hectic, which is often. While it’s never something they can’t handle, they work very hard here and care about this place. Time off is something that they are rewarded with and are happy to take. After all, they put up with me on a daily basis.

The last two years, we were closed three days at the start of the year. This coming year, we’ll only be closed the first two. We will re-open January 3rd with normal business hours. Before the New Year, we will have extended hours around Christmas and up until we are closed for that break. Stay tuned to the website for those details.

As mentioned in the past, we urge you all to stock up before these days to make sure you have enough to get by. Last year, I remember coming back with seeing roughly 40 missed calls on the store phone along with a couple of people knocking on the door when clearly, the lights and open signs were off. This is a month’s notice that we will be closed for two days. Do not say we didn’t tell you. Not even the haunted ghosts in the back of our store will be able to open up the door on those two days. Here’s our notice and we’ll have this up in the store as well. We will be open every day except for Christmas in December.

Thank you very much again for understanding. I seriously cannot thank each and every one of you enough for the support. Some of you I’ve known since the early days back in 2002 across the street from The Junction on Lincoln Highway and in 2004, next to it. It’s been a long time and it’s very much appreciated. 2019 should be dandy.
