Greetings,
First, I know what I am about to say has become a routine, but I truly mean it. We appreciate all of the support you have given us. 2019 will be my 17th year in this business and it’s just amazing that I am still doing this. I couldn’t have asked for a better situation.
I’ve had this conversation with many of you who have come in to the store that there are times where I am burnt out. It’s not often myself or my employees get much time off around the holidays. For the first decade or so, I never really opened up on holidays. The last few, that hasn’t been the case with ones such as Labor, Memorial and Independence Day. Needless to say, it’s time to take a step back.
There are four others who work for me and I do ask a lot from them when things are hectic, which is often. While it’s never something they can’t handle, they work very hard here and care about this place. Time off is something that they are rewarded with and are happy to take. After all, they put up with me on a daily basis.
The last two years, we were closed three days at the start of the year. This coming year, we’ll only be closed the first two. We will re-open January 3rd with normal business hours. Before the New Year, we will have extended hours around Christmas and up until we are closed for that break. Stay tuned to the website for those details.
As mentioned in the past, we urge you all to stock up before these days to make sure you have enough to get by. Last year, I remember coming back with seeing roughly 40 missed calls on the store phone along with a couple of people knocking on the door when clearly, the lights and open signs were off. This is a month’s notice that we will be closed for two days. Do not say we didn’t tell you. Not even the haunted ghosts in the back of our store will be able to open up the door on those two days. Here’s our notice and we’ll have this up in the store as well. We will be open every day except for Christmas in December.
Thank you very much again for understanding. I seriously cannot thank each and every one of you enough for the support. Some of you I’ve known since the early days back in 2002 across the street from The Junction on Lincoln Highway and in 2004, next to it. It’s been a long time and it’s very much appreciated. 2019 should be dandy.
Gratitude,
Muhammad Mustafa – Owner
